CLE: Litigating International Air Disasters

The Cincinnati Bar Association's Aviation and Space Law Committee is excited to present “Litigating International Air Disasters: An Inside Look at the Malaysian Airlines Flight MH17 Litigation Pending in the European Court of Human Rights” on July 19, 2017. Jerry Skinner will present. Mr. Skinner has over 25 years of experience in multi-district commercial airline litigation as well as complex tort, product liability and class-action experience. Mr. Skinner has successfully advocated for families victimized by almost every major U.S. airline disaster since 1989. Skinner has also represented plaintiffs in general aviation accident cases involving Beechcraft and Cessna small aircraft. Skinner is leading the compensation claim against Russia and Vladimir Putin related to the Malaysian Airlines’ flight MH17 that crashed in eastern Ukraine in pro-Russian rebel-held territory on July 17, 2014, killing all 298 people on board. Jerry will talk about his experience filing his claim with the European Court of Human Rights, the current status of the litigation, and provide insight on litigating international air disasters.
